Holiday in the UK

Just returned from a two week visit to the UK for the Christening of our youngest grandchild Chloe.
They live in the Northumberland village of Rothbury.  It is a lovely area with excellent walking opportunities.  So whilst we did no wargaming or campaign work, I did have plenty of time to consider minor changes to our long running 1813 campaign.

  1. Gods country. You do realise that the untouched battlefield of Flodden is not to far away from you. Its a lovely walk, although Braxton Hill can be a bugger.

  2. Hi Robbie

I had a vague idea that Flodden was not very far away, though I am ashamed to say that we have not visited it - YET. Before we moved to Spain we lived in Salisbury in Wiltshire, which is close to a number of important civil war battlefields. Again we did not visit many. This is strange as travelled to visit a lot of Napoleonic battlefields in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Germany.

We usually visit Northumberland twice a year, so we really must take up your suggestion and visit Flodden.

    regards

    Paul
